1 - Defeat by Bitterne on 14th September General comment: a disappointing but not disastrous start to the season. Fitness and commitment of team members are currently at high levels. 2 - Forthcoming home match against Chandlers Ford Sean and Ant will try to find a referee as none has been allocated. Failing this, Jeremy will draw out the name of a team member to referee on Sunday morning before the match (all names to go in, with exception of Nick). Jeremy will also draw up a random rota of players who will stand in as referee when no-one has been allocated by the league or can be found. This means that each team member should be asked to stand in as referee about once every three seasons! Sean will put a postcard ad for referees in local newsagents. 3 - Treasurer Nick will resume duties as Treasurer following Dave Hughes' withdrawal from the Committee. 4 - Home kit and equipment Nick was thanked for obtaining sponsorship money from Adecco and also for organising the printing of the Adecco logo and a new team logo on our shirts. These smart new shirts will be worn for the first time on the 21st September against Chandlers Ford. Thanks also to Al’s dad who designed the team logo and to Al himself who has organised the purchase of new match balls, corner posts and flags. 5 - Training John Hyde has booked the astroturf pitch at River Park Sports Centre in Winchester each Wednesday this autumn for team training. All team members are expected to turn up at 6:30pm for these sessions. 6 - Registration of players All current players have been registered to play in the Winchester League. The Committee anticipate taking on at least two new players to compensate for injuries, holidays, weddings etc. 7 - Pitch conditions at Henry Beaufort As a result of Sean’s letter of complaint, the sharp stones have been picked off the pitch, which has also now been marked out. Goal nets still need attention and the committee will try to mend these before Sunday’s match against Chandlers Ford. The pitch is being reseeded soon, so will be unavailable in late October and early November. We are currently paying only 50% of the normal match fee for hiring the Henry Beaufort pitch. Ant will check on the availability of Twyford pitches. Team members will be asked about the availability of other pitches in and around the Winchester area. 8 - Social events
