1 - The Squad We now have 14 registered players. This will suffice for the first game of the season, therefore any further recruits will need to be informed that they will not be needed until at least 15th September. Tim Cotton has said that he will not be playing and Will has approached James Wilson who is "thinking about it". We currently have two strikers in Ian and Jeff (as well as several others who could play up front), and a potential third in Sam who looks like he is going to defect from his current team to us. 2 - Kit Thanks to Nick for researching this. We have found a cheaper route however through Patrick. To this end, Sean has ordered 14 kits through the Patrick catalogue (including a goalkeeper's kit). The cost has been split six ways (Rob, Jeremy, Will, Alex, Nick and very gratiously, Sean). The cost is £41.16 each and cheques should be sent to Sean ASAP and made payable to R.J.Cameron. Kits should arrive by the end of the week. Shirt numbers will be printed by Patrick at a minimal cost. 3 - Equipment Alex has purchased two match balls and two practice balls at a total cost of £22. Alex to be re-imbursed through club funds (by Nick). Robert will supply a first aid kit, linesman's flags, a pump, bucket & sponge, and a kit bag. 4 - League business
5 - Finances Will has the bank account forms and will liaise with Nick (our Treasurer) ASAP to arrange signatories. The subject of club funding will be broached with players on Sunday. The commitee have so far plundered their pockets for over £400. As a result, we will ask all players for a one-off season payment of £15. This is to cover registration, match balls and kits. There will be a further payment of £3 per game per player, whether or not we are home or away. This will cover running costs, pitch hire, referees etc. Fees for substitues will be reduced to £1.50. Cheques for £15 should be made payable to Jossy's Giants FC and handed to Nick Lee by 8th September. 6 - Club Secretary Sean will take over as Secretary on 15th September. Jeremy will fulfill the role until then and hand over to Sean in the preceding week, and also inform the league and the other secretaries. All players will be instructed to liaise with Sean if they need to. This also goes for fellow members of the Committee. Many thanks to Sean for agreeing to take on this role. 7 - First aid courses The first aid courses are run in Winchester. Robert and Sean are attending, but we need to find a third person. Robert will ascertain cost, and confirm attendees. Jeremy to ask everyone who attends on Sunday if they would like to volunteer to be the third person. 8 - Training Robert to organise a training session for Sunday 1st September. This will be for everyone to get to know each other, and then have a drink afterwards. We need to inform all players ASAP. Robert will book the pitch. Also, we need to find out who wants to attend any form of training on a regular basis, if at all. This should be put to the vote. |
